The Knotty Crafters name isn’t new — we took it over in homage to my parents, who used the same trade name back in the ’90s making doll furniture and other wooden home goods. So you could say making things out of wood runs through the family tree. (Yes, bad pun intended.)
We officially formed The Knotty Crafters, LLC with the State of New Hampshire in 2020, in the middle of the COVID lockdowns — though the planning had been underway for a while before that.
These days it’s very much a family effort. My wife and two daughters help keep me on track around a full-time job, volunteering, and everything else life throws in — and they’re usually the ones you’ll spot in photos dropping off new pieces at the market (mostly there for the food vendor snacks, if we’re being honest). I tend to stay behind the saw, and the camera, so don’t expect to see much of me.
